Overview and Introduction

You! Yes You! One that professes to be an acquaintance, friend or member of the Giscombe family, I do need your keen attention. I do hear the bold statement from you members of the family, of connectivity to a rich history. I too understand the need to belong. This passion lends itself to thoughts that bounce into and out of our minds, about who we really are.
I see the anguish on some faces, which tells of yearning hearts, wanting to know the truth about long passed ancestors’ blood that flows throughout your bodies.

Yes! I too wanted to know all that there was and so have been seeking since 1972.

I am Lorel G. Morrison. My biological mother was Linnette H. Giscombe. In the family book “The Prism”, published in 1998, I laid out a small section of the history of the Giscombes as of 1770 to circa 1900. Since then, I have not halted researching the Giscombes. Since 1998 I have come across many facts that have helped to refine previous information and have since discovered other facts that can take the family’s history back into the mid-sixteenth (16th) century.
